My name is Carline Muir. I was born October 1, 1987 in Spanish Town, Jamaica. I came to Canada at a young age and loved to run. As such I gravitated towards track and field in school. On the track is where I felt the best and most at home.
After many years of hard work and the help of many coaches, physiotherapists, chiropractors, nutritionists, strength and conditioning coach, mentors and friends  I am proud to call myself a Canadian Olympic Sprinter.
My specialty is the 400m. I have been competing for Canada for almost a decade. I am a multiple junior and senior Canadian national Champion. I have competed internationally since the age of 17 and was Canada's youngest track and field Olympian when I competed for Canada at the 2008 Bejing Summer Olympics.
In addition I have competed in the World Indoor Track and Field championships, the Outdoor Track and Field Championship,  The Commonwealth Games, and the Pan Am games to name a few.
After missing London 2012 my goal was to remain injury free and qualify for Rio 2016 Olympics which I did after winning the Canadian National Championships for a 6th time, and helping the Canadian 400m Womens Relay team qualify after finishing 6th at the World Relay Championships, Bahamas 2015.
Season 2016 was finally the type of season I have been striving towards. I was on the podium for a number of IAAF Challenge meets, won a number of other European track meets and finally broke my PR! However, these successes were tinged with the disappointment of finishing 4th in Rio in the Womens 400m. The big positives for the coming seasons were reaching the semi finals, ranking 12th overall, and also finishing 24th on the IAAF Womens 400m World Rankings.
As a result I finally have shoe sponsor - PUMA - who I'm looking forward to competing for over the coming years, especially at the forth coming World Championships in London.
In addition to Track and Field I am currently completing my Bachelor Degree in Sports Management. I have also realized another dream of modelling as I recently signed a modelling contract with a leading Toronto Modelling Agency, ATMI.
Finally I have done a number of motivational speaking engagements talking about the benefits of Track and Field with respect to health, discipline, teamwork and personal growth.
